midgets and unicorns

So Kade and I went on a date last night. We went to ironman which we both loved, it was just a fun fast moving movie. Then we had some good Mexican food at Bajio, I love this place. Then the perfect topper, Barns and Noble baby!!! I love to look at books with no children around, its great. But I must admit the highlight was before we even got to the movie. As we were going down Sunnyside, which is a four lane busy road now we saw a midget/ small person running full speed across the traffic. Kade started yelling its a midget a midget! Then he tried to convince me that seeing a midget run full speed was like seeing a unicorn. I seriously laugh everytime I think of it. Now the kraus house is a midget friendly environment. More power to the little people of the world, But unicorns? Really?

Salt Lake City vacation

A couple weeks ago, Kade and I were talking and we just felt like we needed to get away for a bit. There was talks about West Yellowstone, Jacksonhole, Logan. We decided to head to salt lake. Everytime we take a trip I always love to take a photo of the kids, habit I guess. Its just fun to capture their excitement. The fun thing about Ava's photo is its the first time that she has given a thumbs up. I know shame on us she's two for crying out loud poor kid!

When we got to our hotel it was way past bedtime, but I was so foolish to think the girls would be ready for bed, this was not only their first time in a sky scraper, but the amount of candy, jerky, soda, you know all of the travel food that makes the experience so much better, but you always regret later. Not to mention the lack of engery being used in the car. Anyways add it all up through Harper in the mix and is wasn't the most restful night sleep I have had :>.
When we woke up the excitement coming from the girls was really contagious. Our plan for the day was church history museum and temple square. The museum was amazing, I am a bit of a history nerd and love love love museums. I have been wanting to go to the Church history for ever. It didn't disappoint. The spirit was so strong and you really got a feeling of love for the pioneers. That I expected, What I didn't expect is to get a little misty eyed in some parts. When I saw the death masks of Hyrum and Joseph I couldn't help it I cried, I was quite something to see the face of a man who has changed my life, In whom I am forever in debt too. It was amazing. It was wonderful to see all of the old book of Mormon's and documents, the handcarts and pioneer artifacts loved it. We then headed off to Temple square. We went to the Tabernacle and walked the gardens, we were even able to get right up to the temple which I haven't ever done before. Here is the kicker, I ran into one of my favorite cousins Bryce, he just happened to be there for a

wedding at the same time. Crazy, I know. We were also very luck and that night we were able to meet up with some of our very best friends and have dinner with them in a park with all of our kids. It was so much fun to see them and their beautiful children. Miss them all. We love them all, Hepworths, Andersons, Rach and Thomas you made our night. We also went to the space museum it was a bit of a walk and the girls were about to collapse but it was completely worth it because Ella got to space walk. You can't tell from the picture but she is about ten feet in the air, she was very brave and completely excited.

Hear is a picture of kade and ava that I love on our walk to the space observatory, she is so cute.

The next morning, we went to Hogal Zoo and it was hot!!! Luckily they had water misters through out the zoo, we lived for them. Harper was so jazzed to be in the backpack, he kept climbing up kades back. The first picture is of ava getting misted.

Finally, at the zoo we decided to have a break because it was so hot we got some ice cream. Harper is already pretty intense about food, but took it to a new level with ice cream. Here are the pictures.

We really had such a great time. Yep, it was awesome!!!

luv nat

oh my Ava

So we just got back from such a fun trip to Salt lake City. I will blog all about it later, but I really wanted to tell a quick story about Ava. We were eating breakfast at Denny's and Ava was asking about the sugar packets.
" What are these mom?"
"Oh, These are for people who have coffee."

all of a sudden ava starts a hugh coughing fit. She thought that I had said sugar is for people that cough.
She is soooo dang cute.

La Land

Well, we were able to hang out with our very good friends the Hepworths. We went out to the land. Kurt's Dad and Uncle own some ground that we all go and have camp fires and blow up cans. We really had a fun time.
I actually ate a hot dog, This is a really big deal. I am not a hot dog eating gal. Unfortunately I heard some stories and never got over them. I also have a hard time eating Chinese food. Won't go into that story, It's life changing. The girls were in love with the land and dove head first into their imaginations. Anyways it was wonderful fun and anytime we can clock time with Kurt and Kanani its so worth it. Thanks for a great weekend guys.
